Ariadna's antenatal classes were fluid and interesting. Her depth of experience as a midwife shows in the confidence with which she explains a range of subjects and fields questions. She also has a very good sense of humour.

1. Who teaches Bump, birth and beyond classes?
I, Ariadna Sole, will teach all the antenatal classes. I am a qualified midwife, who has been working in different areas of pregnancy from antenatal care to labour and postnatal care. I offer first hand experience together with the latest research. I am registered with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery council) and Fedant (Federation of Antenatal Educators). I offer support, information, practical skills and resources to help parents make informed choices for themselves and their babies.
2. What is the difference between' Bump, birth and beyond' and NCT?
Bump birth and beyond is midwife-run, it offers dynamic and interactive classes, personalised care and support, tailor-made classes and access to email and phone support and information. Being midwife-run, the information given is not only based on research but on first hand experience gained from attending many births and looking after a large number of women antenatally and postantally. Bump, birth and beyond also offers postnatal support and breastfeeding advice. The NCT is the largest UK charity for parents. It has been offering antenatal classes for many years. NCT teachers undertake professional training that involves adult education and specialise in preparation for birth and parenthood and baby feeding, but generally they are not midwives.
3. When should I book my classes?
You should book your classes any time after your 12 week scan when your due date is confirmed: you are then allocated a place on a course with other couples who have similar due dates. That will help you to create the social network needed for the life-changing event that is parenthood. Classes take place between the 28th and 38th week of your pregnancy.
4. How much does the course cost?
The course costs £240 and this includes 6 weeks of 2 hourly classes, printed and online information, access to email and phone support, two social events during the course and one after the course is over. Payment in instalments is possible; if you prefer this, please contact me.
5. Can my partner come?
All partners are welcome, and encouraged to come and join in the course. The course is for both mums-to-be and partners to learn about birth and beyond, so that your partner can offer the right support throughout pregnancy, labour, and those early days into parenthood.
6. My birth partner is my friend/sister/mother, can she come?
Yes, you are very welcomed to bring your friend, sister, mother, supporter as your birth partner. During classes, everyone is welcome.
7. What if I do not live nearby?
Couples usually live in East Dulwich or surrounding neighbourhoods, such as Herne Hill, Forest Hill, Nunhead, West Dulwich, Camberwell and Peckham. If you live further away, you are welcome to join the classes, but alternatively you could also choose a tailor-made class in the comfort of your own home.
8. I have now booked the course with you, what happens next?
Once the payment is received, a place is booked for you and your partner. You will receive a confirmation via email. You will also receive an email reminder of your course start date approximately one week before its first session. In the meantime, if you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via email or phone.
9. What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations 4 weeks before the course starts will be refunded 50%, otherwise fees are non-refundable, sorry.
10. What if my baby is early and I miss the course?
If you baby is born earlier than expected, you will be refunded 75%.
